Some of you may remember this candle box that I got at a thrift store last year. This is what it looked like when I bought it.
I then painted it barn red. Well I never really liked it that color and therefore never hung it up any where. So the other day I decided to repaint it.
I repainted it mustard yellow and then sanded it down so some of the red would show through. I love the way it turned out and now have it hanging on my kitchen cabinet by my sink.

Oh, Debbi, that looks fabulous!! You did a fantastic job--love your technique. It looks like one of those super-expensive ones on the ritzy prim websites. It's so fun to buy stuff at thrift stores and paint them, especially when you get them so cheap (like the 99-cent items). In fact, you just reminded me . . . I bought a small wall box at Goodwill last week and need to paint it. I just wasn't sure what color. Right now, it's a fire-engine glossy red. I have painted barn red items, mustard items, and soldier blue items. I was thinking flat black, but now that I've seen your mustard one, I'm torn. Your box looks absolutely wonderful, Debbi!
It looks great Debbi! you did an awesome job. Love how you have it decorated too.
That is so cool, I love how the red shows through. Great piece!!

Thank you ladies, I love how it came out, it looks really good.
Barb, I was looking at your webshots page and I seen the little bags with rabbits that you did, you said that you printed them on the fabric. Do you use your regular printer for that? Doesn't the fabric get stuck in the printer or anything? What kind of fabric do you use?
I iron a piece of fabric onto freezer paper (the shiny side). Cut it to 81/2 x 11 to fit in the printer. I have to put mine in cloth side down so the image will print onto the fabric. I just run it through my regular printer. Some say to set your printer to cardstock, but mine doesn't have that option, so I just winged it. It's worked so far (knock on wood) and hasn't gotten stuck. I've even printed on a heavier canvas-type fabric. Give it a try; you'll be hooked:)
Forgot to add that I used onsaburg for the bunny bags, but I've usually used muslin or any type of cotton.
Love the candle box that color and love what you put inside! Very nice!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Barb, I will have to try it.
