Adoption update

We got a call from the adoption agency 2 weeks ago and she told us that we have moved up to #2 on the list. We still have no idea how long the wait will be, could be a short wait or still a long time. Even after waiting all this time I still am not ready, we are finally almost done with the baby's rooms as far as the remodeling, but we still need to put down carpet in there. Still need to go out and buy a crib, etc. I want to try cloth diapers and I have yet even begun to make any. It is hard as we don't know how old the baby will be when he comes home, so I have no idea what size diapers to make or even what size clothes to buy. I have been buying bigger size clothes that would be good for any time of the year, but really don't have that much. So not prepared..lol, but so ready to hold my precious bundle in my arms!

I hope for you that it will be soon, maybe before Christmas. Wouldn't that be so nice?

That's wonderful news :)

Do not worry about what you don't have yet. Honestly, even those that totally prepare can end up not having what they need. People prepare for one sex and get the other. People plan on an average sized baby and end up with one that's 10lbs and outgrew the newborns already. Both of my kids were preemies and couldn't even wear newborns for some time. Knowing an age doesn't do any good because the size it totally depends on the kid and how they're built. You'll be fine. You will figure it out and it will all come together. Just have the necessities around and go from there. :)

Hugs!

So exciting! I remember well when my DD and husband were waiting for their referral for adoption only 3 short years ago! Now guess what, miracle, our sweet grandson has a full sibling and the kids will be adopting her in Feb-Apr of next year! The wait seems unbearable, but once they are here you just forget everything else! Congratulations and good luck!

I am an adoptive mom to my beautiful two year old daugther, Megan.  We brought her home when she was 9 months old.

I know the uncertainty is hard.  Don't worry about not being completely ready.  Everything just fell into place once we received our referral, I am sure it will for you too.

Congratulations, and I hope the remainder of your wait is short!

HEllo, I just found your site surfing from one prim lovers blog to another. Congrats on your pending adoption. I have three boys, 17, 5 and 3. My 5yr old is autistic. We'd also love to adopt one day, and older child. My husband and I have always felt lead to adopt, perhaps another special needs child. Anyway, didn't mean to get into all that. Just wanted to send you well wishes on your soon to arrive blessing!
