Picked these up at The Christmas Tree Shop 2 weeks ago and I knew that I was going to repaint them. For $1.99, why not?? I painted one black with the red showing underneath and one mustard yellow with black showing through.
Here are the finished bowls, the black is not photographing well, there is red showing through, it's just not showing up in the pic. I also drilled a hole, added some material for a hanger and then hung them up. I did not paint the inside, but once they are hung up you don't see that anyway.

Great prims for cheap!!! Great job they look great!
Oh you did a great job! I have some like that I want to re-do, but mine have stars instead of snowmen. I got mine for 2.00 at the fleamarket. I love how yours turned out. Did you put any kind of a finish on them after painting? ~Beth~
Debbi~Those turned out fantastic!
What a great bargain, and a very prim redo!

I think i am the poster child for christmas tree shop....the closest one to us is about 45 minutes away but closed on Sunday :-( I get there about once a month or so....the fall stuff this year was so gorgeous! Its nice to be able to have seasonal stuff to rotate throughout the year that didnt cost a ton of money. ps...great blog
Beth, no finish, just painted and then sanded them down a bit.
You're so lucky for having that store nearby. Those bowls look great!! How big are they?
Love the bowls! Great job!
Barb, they are 12 inches round, pretty big. I love the way they turned out and a excellent price too.
Love the bowls! I did the same thing with some wooden bowls I picked up several years ago at Target, for 75% off.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
